Important Information Regarding the Transition to Federal Direct Lending
Effective July 1, 2010, Brenau University will transition from the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP), which provided student and parent loan funds through the Stafford Loan and PLUS Loan Programs, to the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. This transition comes as a result of passage of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, signed into law on March 30, 2010. What this means is that all new federal student and parent loans disbursed after July 1, 2010 will originate through the Direct Loan Program, instead of through commercial banks and other lending sources. Thank you for your patience as Brenau University transitions, along with hundreds of other schools, to the Federal Direct Loan Program.
